Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and insights across Magentus. The position spans financial control, management reporting, and business partnering, supporting project performance and helping drive business profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver end-to-end financial control, including project and general ledger reporting.
Prepare month-end results, forecasts, and budgets.
Partner with project teams to ensure accurate project accounting and financial reporting.
Oversee project budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring strong controls and data accuracy.
Manage the month-end close process for both project and general ledger accounting, including:
Revenue recognition
Project cost accruals and work-in-progress recognition
Balance sheet reconciliations and journals
Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting for leadership presentations.
Support financial strategies and initiatives that improve business profitability and performance.
Maintain a strong financial control environment, including detailed review of balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with the external audit process.
Manage the capital expenditure process.
Undertake commercial financial analysis and support business cases and strategic initiatives.
Prepare commission calculations for the business.
Assist with preparation of the annual budget.
Provide financial reporting on key project implementations.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded.
Experience in a commercial, project-based finance environment, including management reporting and financial analysis.
Strong analytical, modelling, and financial reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
Ability to prioritise in a demanding environment with multiple responsibilities and tight deadlines.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and knowledge of Power BI would be advantageous.
